"Initial fast ion measurements with FICXS," Bill Rowan,
Igor Bespamyatnov, A. Bader, R. S. Granetz, and Ken Liao,
presented at the 2009 C-Mod Ideas Forum by Bill Rowan
Super-thermal, fully-stripped ions in a plasma can be
detected by observing emission from the singly-ionized ion
formed following charge exchange of the full-stripped ion
in a beam of fast neutrals. In C-Mod, they can be used to
study RF deposition in minority ions.
